I
am originally from Mexico City. I moved to San Diego when
I was 8 and have been here ever since. Spanish is my native
language, and that's what I speak most of the time.
(I do
have to say that speaking Spanish in California is a huge
advantage.)
Right out of High school, I went to the Art
Institute of California, and got my Bachelor's Degree in Advertising. The
Art Institute was a great school. I learned the fundamental rules of adverting as well as the computer skills needed to become a graphic designer. Wanting to
learn more about the latest web design and video editing programs, I took several
courses on the side. |

My first job out of college was at a publishing company where I was a junior
designer. That was a great experience because it gave me a chance to learn how
a publication comes together.
A
year into my publishing experience I realized that my freelance
work was becoming more and more popular, so I decided to
officially start my own company and that's where Globalcentrix
was born.
Globalcentrix was a web and design studio. My business partner handled the business
side, while I the design.
Two and a half years later, I decided that I needed to go back to the work force
and get some more experience, so I started looking for a job at an advertising
agency. With luck on my side I landed a job at a great advertising and promotions
agency. There, I got to handle major accounts like the Lysol Cleaner Line, Pepcid,
Dr. Scholls, Sparkletts Water, Spray 'n Wash, among others.
A couple of years later I decided to test the waters on the other side, and joined
Corporate America. I landed a job in the marketing department of a major medical
services company where I worked at for almost two years.
My last job was as a Creative Manager for a couple of high end retail stores. |
